Terms of Service

Quick summary

  • Who can use Realbonds: people aged 18 and older. You must register with accurate information.
  • Behavior rules: harassment, threats, discrimination, sexual content, fraud and illegal content are prohibited. See §5 Community Guidelines for details.
  • Sanctions: warning → 24-hour suspension → 7 days → 30 days → permanent ban. Severe violations (CSAM, serious threats, etc.) result in immediate permanent ban.
  • Tokens: frozen during temporary suspension; lost permanently on permanent ban — no refund.
  • Appeals: every ban notification includes an “Appeal” button; reviewed by a human moderator within 14 business days.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and Realbonds (“we”, “us”, “our”) and govern your access to and use of the Realbonds mobile application and any related services (collectively, the “Services”). By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

These Terms must be read together with our Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of this agreement. For Turkish-locale users, the KVKK Explicit Consent Notice additionally completes the same framework.

2. Eligibility

You may use the Services only if all of the following are true:

  • You are at least 18 years old. Where local law sets a higher minimum digital-services age, that higher age applies.
  • You are not barred from receiving the Services under the laws of your jurisdiction or any country where we operate.
  • You have not been previously suspended or removed by Realbonds.
  • You will provide truthful, accurate registration information and keep it current.

If you create an account on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

3. Account Registration & Security

  • You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and one-time passwords (OTPs).
  • Notify us immediately at support@realbonds.app if you suspect unauthorised access.
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account, including activity by others using your credentials.
  • One person, one account. Sharing or transferring accounts is prohibited.

4. User-Generated Content & License

You retain all rights you have in the content you publish through the Services (“Your Content”), including stories, photos, videos, captions, comments, reviews and event details.

By publishing Your Content, you grant Realbonds a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable and transferable licence to host, store, reproduce, modify (e.g. resize, transcode), distribute and display Your Content, solely to the extent necessary to operate, promote and improve the Services. The licence ends when Your Content (or your account) is deleted, except where retention is required by law or where Your Content has been incorporated by other users (e.g. shared into their feeds) in which case it persists in those derived contexts.

You confirm that Your Content does not infringe any third-party rights and that you have all necessary permissions to share it.

5. Community Guidelines

Realbonds aims to be a platform where people can interact safely and respectfully. This section applies to all content types: stories, past stories, messages (nearby/event requests), event content, place comments, and user profiles (name, bio, photo).

5.1 Prohibited Behavior

5.1.1 Harassment, Discrimination, and Hate Speech

  • Insulting, belittling, or demeaning individuals
  • Persistent unwanted messaging (harassment)
  • Hate speech based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or age
  • Personal attacks, trolling, excessively aggressive language

5.1.2 Threats and Violence

  • Death threats, physical violence threats
  • Incitement of violence against persons or groups
  • Doxxing (sharing personal information without consent: address, phone, ID number, etc.)
  • Stalking behavior

5.1.3 Sexual Content

  • Explicit sexual content or nudity
  • Solicitation or offering of sexual services
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery (“revenge porn”)

⚠ Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) — Zero Tolerance

Any sexual or explicit content involving minors (under 18) results in immediate permanent ban. Additionally, automatic reports are filed with relevant authorities (Turkey’s BTK İhbarweb and international NCMEC). No warnings, appeals, or restorations are possible for these violations.

5.1.4 Spam, Fraud, and Deception

  • Repetitive promotional/advertising messages
  • Phishing, scams, fraudulent links
  • Investment/crypto/money-promise spam
  • Automated accounts (bots)
  • Multiple fake accounts

5.1.5 Illegal Content and Activities

  • Sale or promotion of weapons, drugs, stolen goods
  • Promotion of illegal gambling
  • Copyright infringement (sharing others’ photos/videos without permission)
  • Fake identity, forged documents
  • Any activity violating applicable law

5.1.6 Self-Harm and Suicide

  • Encouragement of self-harm or suicide
  • Detailed sharing of methods
  • Promotion of eating disorders (“pro-ana”, “thinspo”)

5.1.7 Impersonation

  • Pretending to be another person, celebrity, brand, or institution
  • Operating an unofficial “fan account” without clear disclosure
  • Impersonating authorities (police, prosecutors, banks)

5.1.8 False/Malicious Reports

The reporting system is for genuine violations. Knowingly false reports (e.g., repeatedly reporting a user simply to harass them) are themselves a violation under these Terms.

5.1.9 Technical Manipulation

  • Spoofing your location, manipulating XP or token mechanics
  • Attempting to evade content moderation
  • Reverse-engineering, decompiling, scraping or otherwise misusing the Services or our APIs
  • Attempting to gain unauthorised access to any account, system or data
  • Using the Services to build a competing product

5.2 Strike System

Realbonds uses an AI-based system to evaluate violations automatically. Each violation adds to a counter, with progressive sanctions:

Severe violation exception: Severe violations such as CSAM, serious death threats, or terror propaganda result in immediate Strike 5 regardless of prior history.

5.3 AI-Based Moderation

Reported content is evaluated by an automated system:

  1. Content (text and/or image) is sent to Anthropic Claude AI and the Google Cloud Vision SafeSearch services.
  2. The system computes a violation category and confidence score.
  3. High-confidence decisions (score ≥ 0.85) are applied automatically.
  4. Uncertain cases are routed to a human moderator.
  5. Severe content (CSAM, explicit threats) is processed immediately regardless of score.

This automated decision-making process — including data processing and any cross-border transfers — is fully described in Privacy Policy §17 (and, for Turkish-locale users, the KVKK Explicit Consent Notice §8). Your explicit consent for these services is captured together with your acceptance of the Privacy Policy at registration.

5.4 Device, IP, and Identity Blocking

To prevent banned users from creating new accounts, we use hardware-based attestation systems including Apple DeviceCheck, Apple App Attest, and Google Play Integrity. No raw IP, phone, or identity data is stored — only one-way SHA-256 hashes. See Privacy Policy §3.2 and §6 for details.

6. Tokens and In-App Purchases

  • In-app purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). Their terms and refund policies apply to the payment itself.
  • Tokens are a virtual in-app currency only — they have no monetary value, are non-transferable, and cannot be redeemed for cash.
  • Promo codes, gift bonuses and other token grants are governed by the rules displayed at the time of issuance and may have expiry dates.
  • We reserve the right to modify token economics (pricing, balances, awarding logic) with reasonable notice for material changes.

6.1 Tokens During Temporary Suspension

  • Your token balance is marked as frozen and cannot be spent.
  • It automatically reactivates at the end of the suspension period; no loss of balance.

6.2 Tokens in Case of Permanent Ban

  • Your token balance becomes unusable.
  • No legal right to refund (due to material breach of contract); this is an explicit clause of these Terms which you accepted at signup.
  • This does not constitute “defective service” under consumer law — the user has lost the service due to their own violation.

6.3 Referral Code

Each user has a shareable referral code. You earn 25 tokens for every new user who registers with your code. At Strike 3 and above, this earning right is temporarily or permanently revoked. Tokens already earned are not affected.

6.4 Refunds for Token Purchases

  • Tokens are consumable digital goods. Once you have consented to immediate delivery and any portion has been spent, the purchase is non-refundable and the right of withdrawal no longer applies.
  • Refund requests are considered only where: (a) there is a technical error — e.g. a double charge, an incorrect charge, or tokens not credited despite payment; or (b) the tokens from that package are entirely unspent and the request is made within 14 days of purchase.
  • The payment itself is refunded by Apple/Google under their own policies; Realbonds is not the payment processor.
  • When a purchase is refunded (at your request or by Apple/Google), the tokens granted by that purchase are clawed back from your account. If your balance is insufficient to cover them (e.g. they have been spent), your balance is set to zero and your account may be suspended/frozen pending review.
  • Accounts found to abuse refunds (e.g. repeated buy–spend–refund behavior) may be permanently closed.

⚠ Important Notice

Having spent significant amounts on tokens does NOT exempt you from account closure if you violate the rules. The amount of token spending does not grant you the right to violate the rules. In case of permanent ban, you forfeit your tokens and cannot claim financial refund.

7. Reporting & Right to Appeal

7.1 Reporting Violations

You can report community guideline violations through:

  • “…” menu on content → “Report”
  • “Report” option on user profiles
  • “Report” option on message cards

Your reports are confidential; the reported party will not know who reported them.

7.2 Right to Appeal

Every ban or content removal decision is delivered to you as a notification. The notification includes:

  • Full text of the violated rule
  • Summary of the violating content
  • Decision date and applied sanction duration
  • “Appeal” button

Appeals are reviewed by a human moderator within 14 business days. If a wrong decision is identified: your account is reactivated immediately, your token balance is restored in full, your strike counter returns to its previous level, and device/IP bans are removed.

8. Places, Events and Stories

You agree to use these features in accordance with §5 Community Guidelines. We may remove places, events, or stories that violate these rules or applicable law without prior notice.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Account → Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, expose us or other users to legal risk, or become inactive for an extended period. Upon termination, the rights you grant us under §4 continue to apply only to Your Content already shared with others, and otherwise lapse subject to the deletion timelines in our Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The Services are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Realbonds disclaims all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement and quiet enjoyment.

We are not responsible for interactions between users — meet-ups, transactions, or any conduct outside the app are at your own risk. Use common sense and meet in public places.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Realbonds’ aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Services is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid Realbonds in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD 100. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, willful misconduct, death or personal injury, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Realbonds harmless from claims, damages and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of (i) Your Content, (ii) your breach of these Terms, or (iii) your violation of any law or third-party right. This obligation does not apply where it is excluded by mandatory consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction.

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Istanbul Anatolian Courts and Enforcement Offices, except that consumers domiciled in the European Union or the United Kingdom may also bring claims before the courts of their place of residence to the extent required by mandatory local law.

Nothing in these Terms requires EU consumers to waive any right under Directive 93/13/EEC on unfair contract terms or any equivalent national rule.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified at least 30 days in advance via in-app notice and email where required. Continued use of the Services after the effective date of an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
